Meet the Owners:
Michael has worked in restaurants his entire life, beginning his career in the industry as a 15 year old dishwasher. He learned the ropes one step at a time, and to date has overseen the development and executively managed five high-performing ventures. Michael is a level two sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers. He speaks Japanese and loves to rock climb. In February 2009 he decided to purchase the nascent Plonk concept in Bozeman, MT with his best friend Brett Evje, after drinking a bottle of 2005 Orin Swift The Prisoner. He thinks cats are the new dog.
Brett is a fifth-generation Montanan. He began his professional life as a masonry contractor before shifting to the compelling challenge of restaurants. Brett has implemented the employment of three original ventures, and led as chief director in the conception of five collaborative projects. He managed Brett & Michael’s second joint endeavor; the celebrated opening of Plonk in Missoula, MT in March 2013. Brett is a private pilot in training and current agent with Sotheby’s Realty. He has an affinity for travel and old cars. He thinks dogs are still dogs. He battles Michael and his daughter on the issue.
